James King signs deal at Ospreys
James King has signed an extension to his current contract with Ospreys, which will keep him at the club until the end of the 2012-13 season.
The 20-year-old is one of the most talented and gifted players in the Magners League. He signed his first deal with the club back in 2008 and says he's now looking forward to aiming for a Wales senior
place.
"I've had to put in a lot of hard work to get to this stage, and a lot of other people have put in a lot of effort on my behalf. So this is reward for them as well as me," he said.
There are many positive angles to this deal, which will work out favourably for Ospreys. The decision to sign on is also going to benefit King's game substantially over the next two and a half years.
Good news all round
Ospreys has tied down the services of one of the best young rugby players in the United Kingdom. This means coaches can now focus on improving him as a player and the club doesn't have to worry about another
club trying to poach him.
It's a signal of intent to all other clubs in the Magners League and Europe that the future of Ospreys is very bright. The club must continue to produce and keep talented players such as King.
"I'm working with players like Jonathan Thomas, Alun Wyn Jones and Ryan Jones, who have captained the Ospreys and Wales and Jerry Collins, a former captain of New Zealand. They are all quality international
players and that's what I want to be. To do that, you've got to learn from them," he added.
Betting advice
King plays as a forward, which means he'll have more chances to score tries. Have a punt on him to be top scorer in any game and back him to be in the top four scorers at Ospreys by the end of the season.
