James Milner hoping Wayne Rooney will not miss match against Switzerland

James Milner is hoping that England's star striker, Wayne Rooney, will manage to make the trip to Switzerland when the English national team travel there on Tuesday to participate in their Euro 2012 qualifying match.
Recently allegations about the forward’s private life seemed to have made their way in the News of the World, this news published in the papers led to further speculations that the Manchester United superstar might stay back for the match. The FA sources have indicated to the media and Press Association that there has been no decision regarding the matter as yet and with the current flow of things, Rooney is expected to make the flight.
Milner explained how Rooney played a full role in the training session that took place on Sunday and was reported to have said, "He did the full session. We had our full training session and back to football is what we're here to do. He's a top, top player and we want to put out the strongest team possible."
The midfielder then added: "I think you want the best players out on the field and he's obviously one of them. He showed that the other night."
After being put under pressure by the press for more information, Milner responded and said "You're going to have to ask him."
The new Manchester City midfielder does not however expect such an incident to affect the teams morale, or how they are playing at the moment, according to the player, "We've got to make sure they don't," he said. "Things are always said in the paper, good things, bad things, about the England team when results are going well and when they're not going well.”
"You have highs, you have lows, and it's down to us to make sure only thing that matters is on the field, come together and make sure we get the result."
Milner indicated England have only the match against the Swiss on their minds.
"Winning football matches is the only thing that matters," he said. "We're here to win a football match. We've all trained as a squad in preparation for the game on Tuesday. It's a big game, and it's down to us go out and get the right result."
If Wayne Rooney does not happen to make the trip it will be a major blow to the English side, who are by all means currently dependent on the forward’s performances to help steer them clean through to the Euro 2012's group stages. In the team’s previous outing which they won by four goals to nil, all four goals were assisted/by Rooney, which clearly indicates just how crucial the player’s position in the team is.
