After being rewarded by Cricket Australia with a central contract in lieu of his excellent performance in the domestic season, the young Australian pacer, James Pattinson, has expressed his desire to represent his country in Test cricket.

The 21-year-old fast bowler, who was surprised to be in the list, has said that he will look to get a place in the Test squad for the upcoming tour of Sri Lanka, later this year.
The Aussies are due to meet http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758 for three Tests and five One Day Internationals (ODIs) in August of 2011.
Pattinson stated that his challenge will be to secure his place in the Test team and prove his worth.
"I got picked in the Twenty20 last year and the one-dayers and I've been on a couple of Test tours so I'm hoping that I can be a contributor to all forms of cricket for Australia," said Pattinson.
The lanky pacer added, "I'm ready to go and play Test cricket right now if the opportunity comes my way. It does give you extra confidence knowing that you're thereabouts and in the mix. Obviously I'm not there yet, but I've got to keep working hard."
Pattinson represented Kolkata http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Knight-c71599 Riders (KKR) in the fourth season of the Indian Premier League (IPL).
Although, he did not find any opportunity to show his skills in the tournament, he landed a great chance of working with his compatriot, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Wasim-Akram-c96292, who shouldered his responsibilities as bowling coach for the Kolkata outfit.

Pattinson shared that he always dreamt to be in the national Test side. Meanwhile, he explained that he has been working extremely hard on his game and will deliver his best if he gets a chance.
