James Pattinson out of IPL-VI for abdominal surgery – Cricket News Update
Australia’s left-arm pace bowler James Pattinson has been ruled out of the latest edition of Indian Premier League as he is scheduled to undergo an abdominal surgery on Friday, April 5, 2013. Pattinson is also likely to miss the Champions
Trophy in June, preceding much awaited Ashes series against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013.
Confirming the news on Thursday, Cricket http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746 said that the left-arm seamer will undergo a surgery for a non-cricket related medical condition in his lower abdominal region.
The Victorian pacer was due to represent defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders in the ongoing lucrative twenty20 league. Pattinson’s departure to India to participate in IPL was initially delayed until Friday as medical staff was
awaiting the result of his tests and the advice of the physician. However, on the receipt of the opinion that the seamer should have the abdominal surgery done at the earliest, the player and cricket Australia decided to withdraw from the Twenty20 tournament.
"http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750," Cricket Australia's
chief medical officer Justin Paoloni told media reporters on Thursday. "James has undergone tests and consulted specialists since returning from India, and it was felt that surgery is absolutely necessary at this time,” he added further.
Paoloni was, however, noncommittal when asked about the recovery period and said that it will be determined only after the surgery is completed. However, he was confident that the surgery will not affect Pattinson’s preparations for
the Ashes series in July.
"The recovery times will [be] determined once the surgery is completed but James is expected to return to training in approximately four weeks. His preparation for The Ashes is not expected to be affected but his availability for the
