James Peters and Alan Roberts of RS200 class happy with team’s success at the 2011 Endeavours Trophy
After having a thrilling clash with Nick Craig and Toby Lewis, RS200 class representatives, James Peters and Alan Roberts were able to finish second in the overall standings of 2011 Endeavours Trophy hosted by Royal Corinthian Yacht Club at River Roach.
However, despite finishing second in the championship, Peters is happy with their team’s consistent performance during the tournament.
While speaking to local media at the end of the competition, Peters said, “We are really happy with how we sailed today. Obviously it is a really tough event with loads of really high quality sailors here, so we were happy to put in some consistent results,
and we had really good fun as well. Interestingly we’ve never sailed a Topper Xenon before but I have to say we are impressed.”
Peters believes they have gained a lot of experience from this event and he also hailed Nick Craig of OK class for his superb performance in the event.
He added, “We really enjoyed the event and it was a fantastic learning experience for us. It is well within the rules and to execute it as Craig did, is a skill in itself, and he did a really good job making sure we weren’t able to win. I have to say though,
beating him across the line did make it a bit better for us, and finishing second at the Endeavour championship is amazing.”
