James Roby says St. Helens are not worried about Grand Final showdown - Rugby

While talking to reporters on Thursday, October 6, James Roby of St. Helens confirmed that his club is not worried about their string of Grand Final defeats in the last four successive years.
Saints have reached the Grand Final berth for the fifth time and this will be the fourth time that Saints will clash against Rhinos for the same title. Their history does not prove the Saints to be lucky in this situation but that does not dampen thei squads
confidence. Their ultimate goal remains Grand Final glory.
There are five Saints’ players, who will be visiting the Super League final showdown for the sixth successive time and Roby is one of them. He was also part of the Grand Final-winning squad which bagged a 26-4 glory against Hulls in 2006. All that is important
for the prop is to be able to savour the 2006 victory yet again this year.
While recalling the pain of losing Grand Finals, Roby also added that there are many members on board, who have never experienced that devastating feeling. In that count, he also included his coach, Royce Simmons.
The twenty five-year-old further added that Saints should stop recalling their losing-streak at this level and treat the upcoming match as their first experience, which asks nothing but best from them.
Roby went on about their final duel against Rhinos at Old Trafford and said, “It's going to be a massive game. We know exactly what to expect. We've been a bit under the radar and they have as well. A lot has been made of Warrington and Wigan and, full credit
to them, they were the best and most consistent teams through the regular season and deserved to finish one and two. But, when it comes down to play-offs it's a different kettle of fish, it's knockout rugby and we've both been here before. We know what it's
like to play and win in these big games. That experience has obviously paid off for both teams."
Roby slipped on the captain’s hat after Keiron Cunningham departed Leeds last season, in lieu of his retirement from rugby. The player is marching into his ninth Grand Final appearance and considers the running year as the best of his playing career so far.
