James Stewart takes title sponsorship of second annual AMA Spring Championship
Following a new partnership between James Stewart Entertainment (JSE) and the Freestone County Raceway, the renowned American professional motocross racer James Stewart has taken over the title sponsorship of the second annual American Motorcyclist Association
(AMA) Spring Championship that is scheduled to go down at Freestone Raceway in Wortham, Texas, from February 28 through March 3.
The 26-year-old Stewart broke the news of the new partnership between his company and Freestone Raceway via his twitter account on Tuesday.
“The JS Spring National is such an honour,” said Stewart. “It’s just the start of a great year for me & JSE. It's Just the beginning of my involvement in MX.”
The Florida-based racer will not only be lending his name to the upcoming event, but will also be attending the official track walk that is to take place on Monday, February 27. His attendance at the Freestone Raceway during the track walk-through will give
riders an opportunity to talk and listen to a man who has been making waves in motocross competitions for nearly two decades.
To make the victory even more coveted at the event, Stewart will be inviting each champion of the 49 amateur race classes to ride at his personal training compound in Florida. With the opportunity to have one of the best motocross racers in America as their
mentor, finishing on top of the podium has become even more desirable for the racers.
“Having my name attached to an event such as the AMA Spring Championship is amazing,” conceded Stewart. “I always wanted to be a bigger part of the motocross industry and I think this is taking amateur racing to a new level. I loved competing in amateur
races, so my heart has always been with the younger generation coming up because they are the future of our sport.”
Other than concentrating on extending his involvement in the sport through his JSE, Stewart is also determined to redeem himself after what turned out to be a rather unfortunate race season in 2011. He missed on the podium in most of the 2011 AMA Supercross
events due to crashes and later pulled out of the Lucas Oil Motocross Championship as well.
Stewart will begin his campaign for the 2012 AMA Supercross Championship title at Angel Stadium in Anaheim, California, on Saturday, January 7.
