James Tate targeting Glasgow or the Gordon Stakes with Mirsaale – Horseracing news
James Tate is a bit unsure about where to run his challenger Mirsaale, but has confirmed that he has targeted Glasgow Stakes or the Gordon Stakes, which are scheduled to take place at Goodwood in England during this week.
According to the trainer, “He (Mirsaale) goes next for either the Glasgow Stakes at Hamilton or waits for the Gordon Stakes at Glorious Goodwood. A mile and a half is certainly his trip.”
The three-year-old colt started off this season on a high, winning the second race of his career with ease. He was not given the best odds for victory back then, but stunned his rivals with a fabulous effort. However, things have not worked out well for
him since then and his performances have been disappointing for his camp.
Saif Ali’s owned runner entered the Epsom Derby with high hopes, but the result was not a good one for him at all, as he had to settle for ninth place overall. He was not considered as a threat to his rivals back then, but his fans would have been hoping
for a top-six finish, which did not turn out to be the case.
Overall, Mirsaale has appeared in a total of seven races, winning just two of them, which shows that he is not a consistent winner. He needs to improve his strike rate by participating in smaller events, which will improve his overall record in the sport.
Despite some inconsistent performances, Tate is hopeful that his challenger will come good in the future and will definitely be a force to reckon with in the future. He was also hoping for some better performances from some of his other trainees such as
Blhadawa.
When asked about the young filly, he said, “She ran an unbelievable race in a hot maiden at Newmarket on her debut to be second of 17. The form of that race couldn't be stronger as the fourth filly home, Kiyoshi, won the Albany Stakes, and fifth-placed Rizeena
hacked up in the Queen Mary Stakes. But she was turned over as a 2-5 favourite at Lingfield in June when I thought she was a certainty.”
However, Blhadawa was unable to run in the race, where she was the favourite. She seems to be ready now, as her fitness level is good.
