James Te Huna knocks Aaron Rosa out in first round on UFC on FX 2 preliminary card – UFC news
UFC on FX 2: Alves vs. Kampmann pay-per-view’s preliminary card was televised by Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) on Fuel TV to put forth the UFC fanatics an epic bout between James Te Huna and Aaron Rosa, which was won by the former via first round
knockout.
The special edition’s main card was televised on FX channel and was headlined by the non-title brawl between Thiago Alves and Martin Kampmann. The octagon for the second UFC show on FX channel was setup at Allphones Arena situated in Sydney, Australia.
James, 30, has been in a total 18 bouts and came out victorious in 13. The Aussie brawler has collected nine of his wins by knockout, three by submission, and just one by decision. Infamous as the Aussie knockout specialist, James is widely known for his
straight forward, brutal, hardcore punching and striking style which helps him in collecting a swift, clean, and authoritative win.
Aaron, on the other hand, had a bit more experience in his resume as compared to James. Rosa has entered the octagon a total 21 times and came out victorious in 17. He has collected six of his wins by knockout, three by submission, and another seven by either
unanimous or split decision.
Both men were coming from a win. James was entering the ring after his impressive knockout win over Ricardo Romero and Aaron was coming from a majority decision win over Matt Lucas. The bout kicked off and after the passage of initial few seconds James found
the necessary gap.
The small hole in Aaron’s defence gave James the opportunity to unleash his powerful jabs. With every passing second James inflicted substantial damage with his uppercuts and converted Aaron’s clean face into a bloody mess. The vicious fist barrage made
Aaron fall on the ground and James went in for the kill by unloading final series of powerful fists.
The referee intervened and the bout ended with Aaron’s blood all over the mat in just 2 minutes and eight second of the first round. Te Huna later on remarked, “It's good to be back here and get a win after last year's performance. It's pretty nice.”
James now has 14 wins in his account and has solidified his winning streak. Rosa, on the contrary, collected his fifth career defeat and now has 17 wins in a total 22 bouts.
