James Te Huna to enter the octagon against Brandon Vera on UFC on Fuel TV 4 – UFC news
According to a recent announcement made by Ultimate Fighting Champion (UFC), James Te Huna, the former Cage Fighting Champion (CFC) light heavyweight champion, will take on Brandon Vera, the former World Extreme Cagefighting heavyweight champion, in UFC
on Fuel TV 4 which will take place in July, 2012.
As per the details, the news was originally aired by James via twitter. The former champion left a one-line message on April 12, 2012 and confirmed that as per his communication and settlement with the UFC management, he is being scheduled to take on Vera
in a still to be decided pay-per-view.
James tweeted, “I’m fighting Brandon Vera, UFC on fuel 4.” There is no information from the UFC officials and even the location where the octagon will be stretched is still not known.
The only comment available that corroborates James’ claim is George Greenberg’s, Fuel TV Executive Vice President and General Manager, short interaction with the media in which he revealed that Fuel TV will hold its fourth UFC episode somewhere in the month
of July.
James, 30, will enter his fifth UFC bout and will strive hard to grab a win since he has constructed a pretty decent reputation in the promotion and is being highlighted as the possible future number one light heavyweight contender.
Te Huna, who hails from New Zealand but represents Australia in UFC, has been in a total 19 mixed martial art bouts and emerged victorious in 14. He has nailed 10 of his total opponents via knockout, three by submission and one by unanimous decision.
The Aussie brawler is famous for being a ruthless knockout specialist who follows a straight forward upfront stance in the octagon hence collecting a swift and authoritative win.
Brandon, on the other hand, is a UFC veteran and has been in a total 18 mixed martial art bouts. He has emerged victorious in 12 encounters and nailed seven of his opponents by knockout, one by submission, and four by decision.
Vera, also known as ‘The Truth’, recently collected a unanimous decision win over Eliot Marshall and has collected just two wins in his last five battles. James, on the contrary, has lost just one bout to Alexander Gustafsson in his last five engagements.
At the moment, the odds are in favour of James Te Huna but still Brandon has ample time to improve and train hard so as to overcome his deficiencies and if he does do so it is probable that the outcome of the bout is changes altogether.
