James Tincknell earns new deal at Leeds Carnegie
Leeds centre James Tincknell has signed a new two-year contract, which will keep him at the North West club.
Tincknell joined Leeds in the summer on a six-month deal from Wharfedale. He's now signed his first full-time professional contract with a Premiership side after taking up rugby seriously only two years
ago.
"It has been unbelievable how things have worked out for me since I came to Leeds.
I got my head down in pre-season and worked hard and thankfully the coaching staff have rewarded me for that and I have got some game time," he said.
Tincknell is one of the most important players in the rugby club. It's imperative he is able to maintain some sort of consistency over the next few weeks to help Leeds
pull away from the bottom of the Premiership.
An important player
Tincknell is an important player because he is one of the more creative members in the team. He is essential at creating unique and innovative passes when the team attacks.
His pace is a big asset and something that allows him to be effective at either end of the pitch. He can track back quickly if Leeds is forced to defend a counter attack
from the opposition.
Tincknell has worked hard on his fitness over the last 12 months. He is physically very fit and this means he can compete in rugby games for the whole 80 minutes. It also
means he is less likely to make mistakes.
"I have really enjoyed playing as part of the team and I think my confidence
has grown with every game. I am constantly learning, whether that is at training or in games, and I know I still have a lot to learn," he added.
Betting advice
With Tincknell in the team Leeds has a much better chance of winning games consistently. Leeds is under heavy pressure to get a Premiership win, so back the side to produce
this over the next one or two weeks. Tincknell is also like to score a try or two in that time.
