  1. James in for a great year.

He wont the title year. He knows it, we all know it, but I truly [ and its not just one Yorkshire lad wishing the best to another ] but I truly think he will podium this year. And not just once. Im guessing tracks that he knows from home i.e Donny and " Shared Tracks " like Assen he will do really well at.

My 2 big highlights [ for the blue ribbon class in 08 ] are Qatar in the night and the level playing feild of the INDY 500 Track.

New track, no testing............... Bring it on !

  2. I think he will make an impact. especially on the tracks he already knows such as Assen, but this is a tough season with a lot of quality players. he is going to have to fight for every inch of track. I wish him well.  podium second half of the season.

  3. In top ten he will be happy, top six more than happy, podium over the moon.

I think it will be a good year for him, if he gets good results, he will get a better bike next year. I would love to see him get a win. One thing is for sure I'll be behind him all the way.

  4. I really cant see Toseland getting on the podium yet alone a win.

The competition this season is vicious Stoner will be desperate to prove hes not a one trick pony (nicky haden 2006), melandri should be one to watch  and i do expect to see pedrosa on the podium again at the end of this season but i dont think it will  be as champion, i also think that de Puniet had a really good season last year.

Guy i would love to see a british moto gp champion to but i dont think it will happen this season.

wouldnt it be great if i had to eat my words.

  5. Yes, he has youth, strength and natural talent on his side combined with the determination to bash farings with anybody.

  6. First of all there is a point that Louise made which actually is relevant, though I hate to disagree with her. In relative terms James does not have youth on his side. He is currently 27 years old an coming to Moto GP for the first time now. If you look at the majority of the field then ou will see that he is actually bit older than most of them and they have been in Grand Prixs for quite a while all ready

Casey Stoner, Dani Pedrosa, John Hopkins, Chris Vermuelen, Nicky Hayden, Marco Melandri, Anthony West and Tony Elias fall into that group. Jorge Lorenzo and Andrea Dovizioso join him for their first year in Moto GP and they are younger but have been running in Grand Prix.

I hope James does well and as much as I want it to happen I don't think though that he will get any wins or podiums. I will be the first to happily eat humble pie if he does though.

  7. if toseland can beat edwards in his first season he will have had a good year cant really see past top 5 finish for him this year but a constant top 10 rider cmon james prove me wrong and win a race or two us brits have been starved of success for far too long in gps

  8. Hi Guy

I think he has the talent, and the ambition, and the experience to put himself on more than one podium this year. Like Proc mentioned, the tracks he knows from WSBK will be where he can really let rip - and show what dedication like his will get you! (top step? maybe, but on the steps - definitely!)

As for the machine, I think the Yammi has some wins in it this year, and with Colin Edwards as a team mate (again) I would guess that's gonna be a happy pit to be around - which I believe makes a big (but intangible) difference.

As for a British champion - well I saw JT doing a Q&A session at last years Ally Pally bike show (with Leon Haslem and Cal Crutchlow) and he came across as a thoughtful and intelligent guy who'd make a great ambassador for British bikers - how weird would that be? A British world Champ who didn't make you shudder whenever he opened his mouth! LOL!

Are you thinking of who I'm thinking of?  ; o )
