James Wade anticipates the upcoming U.K Open, will he pull off a hat-trick?
When we talk about the U.K Open, one name stands out tall, James Wade. This man has ruled the U.K Open with consistent and superb performances.
The McCoy’s Premier League Darts saw Wade making an early exit and disappointing fans all over the world, and Phil Taylor won the Premier League by beating Simon Whitlock in the final.
Wade has been playing darts since 2001 and has been impressive throughout his career. His best wins include the World Matchplay in 2007, World Grand Prix in 2007 and 2010, Premier League in 2009, and Championship League in 2010.
However, the U.K Open has been his haven. He has won it twice, in 2008 and 2011. These stats are a major reason why Wade is considered as the most successful darts player after Phil Taylor.
Next week will mark Wade’s entry in the U.K Open where he can pull off a hat-trick, if he wins the third time. The prize money on this year’s U.K Open is a whopping £40,000.
Wade is not taking the competition easy as he saw the level of competition at the McCoy’s Premier League last month.
“I'm fortunate enough to have won twice in Bolton and it would be fantastic to do it again, but I know I'll have a tough weekend ahead of me,” said Wade.
With the presence of giants like Phil Taylor, Adrian Lewis and Simon Whitlock, next week’s U.K Open will be a tough ground for Wade to notch his hat-trick.
On the other hand, Wade has pleasantly surprised everyone in the past.
It may be tough but “The Machine” has the right approach towards the upcoming darts gala.
“It's a short format, the first to four, so I'll have to be ready because there's no time to get settled in - I've just got to go out there and do a job,” said a focused Wade.
The U.K Open has a variety of players coming in for the title. The diversity makes this year’s U.K Open a sports spectacle - a must watch for darts fans.
Will Wade pull off a hat-trick? Only time can tell as the game of darts remains highly unpredictable.
