James Wattana beats Justin Astley in Qualifiers Round 1 of 2011 World Snooker Championship
The experienced Thai-Poon, James Wattana, has beaten the 27-year-old English professional Justin Astley by a frame score of 10-3 in the qualifiers round 1 of the 2011 World Snooker Championship held at the World Snooker Academy.
The English professional Justin Astley was not able to produce a good game against one of the strong prospect for the Crucible Theatre.

In the opening frame, both players were seen finding their momentum. Wattana got many chances to be among the balls but he could not produce a big break but a few small from his side every time did the job and he took the first blood 1-0.
Second frame was over within a blink of an eye as Wattana produced a mind boggling break of 141 in it which also is the highest as of yet.
Justin Astley, who had was only able to score fifteen points in two frames, also bounced back to take two frames in a row. Although he in both of these had given frame winning chances to his opponent but he was lucky to get back on the table as Wattana broke
at the break of 51 and 54 respectively. However, Astley was successful in levelling the things at 2-2.
Wattana took the scrappy fifth frame before Astley took the next one and they were again neck-to-neck at 3-3.
It was looking as if a good competition is going to come up between the two but it was all a one man show afterwards.
James Wattana totally outplayed Justin Astley and took all the seven needed frames straight. He dominated the seventh with a break of 52.
Eighth frame was noteworthy as Wattana showed his flawless safety skills in it and gave a deadly snooker to his opponent. Justin Astley gave 51 odd-points to Wattana in the frame.
Astley was given a chance in the next won but he did not show any signs of confidence and was again not able to pull the frame. In the tenth frame, Wattana produced another classy break of 98 giving Astley no chance.
Wattana who was leading by a frame score of 7-3 took the following three frames as well to seal a comfortable victory by 10-3. He enjoyed breaks of 28 and 23 in the eleventh, 55 and 49 in the twelfth, and 27 and 14 in the thirteenth frames.
