Jamesie to refresh rivalry with Atlantic Sport in the 32Red Bunbury Cup (Handicap)

One of the strongest contenders among the line-up of the Class 2 32Red Bunbury Cup (Handicap) is the four-year-old Irish bay gelding, Jamesie. The seven furlong race will be hosted by Newmarket on Saturday, 14th July. Competing for the £31,125
prize money are nineteen other three-year and above contenders.
Kodiac’s four-year-old bay gelding has raced five times during the new season and started progressing just recently as his last two races culminated into a second position.
The Irish bay gelding rolled into the new season on 21st April, 2012 in the Go Racing In Kildare Handicap at Naas over six furlongs. The race was won by the favourite entry, Maarek who led by the margin of just half a length.
Jamesie ended seventh on the track of eleven contestants.
The next two races of the David Marnane trained resulted in a disappointing seventh and then a ninth position. After performing miserably in the first three outings of the season, the bay gelding out of mare, Pretty Woman, rolled up the sleeves and notched
the ranking to the second position.
On 4th June, 2012, the four-year-old qualified as the runner-up of the
http://www.thetote.com BBQ Evenings At Naas Handicap at Naas over seven furlongs. The race was won by the favourite entry, Bold Thady Quill.
In partnership with jockey, Fergal Lynch, Jamesie tracked the leaders and half way down the track distance, the four-year-old held the fifth position on the track of fourteen.  The position changed to second by the time the last two furlongs remained.
His entrance into the final furlong was challenged, he could not impact the finishing of the winner, but did not even let go off the grip and maintained the same pace through the track.
The next second position of the Damian Lavelle owned was in the Buckingham Palace Stakes (Handicap) on 22nd June, 2012 at the Royal Ascot over seven furlongs.
Eton Forever won the race with Neil Callan riding and set Jamesie into the runner up’s slot after winning by the margin of 1 ¾ lengths.
Filling in the third slot of the race was, Atlantic Sport.
The John R. Jeffers bred will take on to the track distance from the first stall with Pat Dobbs onboard.
