Jamie Burnett wants to be more consistent in his game: 2012 Australian Goldfields Open
Proceedings of the second round games of the 2012 Australian Goldfields Open snooker event finished at the Bendigo Stadium arena featuring eight potters who have made their way into the quarter-final stage of the tournament.
Scotland’s Jamie Burnett had his second round clash against Hong Kong’s Marco Fu were he could not continue his good form and lost to the Taipei potter by the score line of 5-1.
After the match he spoke to World Snooker, “Marco played well today I can't complain about the result, I got out-played today. I didn't get much sleep last night so I wasn't looking forward to it.”
Tumbling down against Fu was indeed an unhappy ending for the Scotsman. However, he is still satisfied with his performance in the tournament. Besides, he stated that he was not looking forward to make it an interesting game after all. Meanwhile, he also
mentioned that he played sensibly in the previous snooker season beating many big names in important events so he will be coming back soon to challenge his opponents,
He said, “I went to China and I had Neil Robertson, I came to Australia and I had Mark Selby, two of the best players in the world. So it was a couple of tough draws and I managed to win those two matches so I will try and take the positives out of them
rather than the negatives.”
Burnett finished the last season campaign with a convincing performance in noticeable snooker events which gave the belief that he can make it up to the expectations of his snooker fans. The Scotsman is looking forward to get back into the game and give
his best in the upcoming snooker events.
Meanwhile, Fu will be facing Stephen Lee in the Last-Eight round with the hopes to beat him and move himself in the semi-final stage of the event.
It will be interesting to see how far Fu can carry his winning momentum forward and put in a good performance in his encounter with Lee.
It looks like both players are in a good form and will be working hard to get a competitive victory to advance in the exciting tournament.
