King Kenny hailed his vice-captain’s performance against Chelsea and said the English international had a great influence on Liverpool’s game.
“He was fantastic last Sunday. It's a great credit to him that he got through the game. It's a great credit to his professionalism and the respect he has for his body because it had been a while since he last played. He's probably been the club's best defender
for many years,” said Dalglish.
The Scot added that Carragher is an ‘asset’ and is ‘invaluable’ to Liverpool and compared him to Liverpool’s legendary centre-halves. Kenny Dalglish compared the English international to Alan Hansen and Mark Lawrenson and claimed that Carragher is a living
legend.
“I think everybody knows the respect and appreciation I have for Jamie Carragher, and it's the same as every other Liverpool fan. We're fortunate that he's here and we're fortunate that he's so committed to the club,” added the Scot.
Carragher is Liverpool’s one of the most consistent players and has already featured in 22 matches in the season. The English centre half is also expected to start against Wigan Athletic at Anfield.
