Liverpool’s veteran defender, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jamie-Carragher-c17728 has admitted that he is more than happy with being a substitute at the club.
Veteran defender, Jamie Carragher has seen himself get dropped to the Liverpool bench this season, as he is regarded to be nothing more than a back – up defender.
However, despite this fact, the defender is more than happy to be able to be a part of the team and has admitted that he wouldn’t mind sitting on the bench, as long as he can help his team in one way or another.
The defender admitted that everyone wants to play every minute of every game, but in the end you need to do what’s best for the team.
Carragher is quoted to have said: "Of course, every player wants to play"
"But I went out of the team through injury and other players have come in and played well. The manager has been fair to those players and rightly so.”
He then went on to admit that the partnership of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Daniel-Agger-c9884 and Martin Skrtel had been outstanding this season, while claiming the two are just the sort of players that the team needed.
He continued: "Daniel Agger and Martin Skrtel have been two of our best players. I've got to wait my turn, just as other players had to wait their turn when I'd been playing for so long.”
Just like his teammates, Carragher then went on to claim that a top four finish was still on the cards for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809, as they just needed to push on over the remainder of the season.
The team might be sitting in the seventh spot at the moment, but should they be able to produce some decent results over the next couple of months, they could go on and surprise just about everyone.
The Reds defender then ended by claiming: "The season's there for us, and if we can put a great run of form in between now and the end of the season we can achieve a lot."
Liverpool have started to produce a number of decent results lately and with the team finally being at full strength, it isn’t hard to see them break back into the top four once again.
Nonetheless, with so many teams competing for the last Champions League spot, it is going to go down to the wire and hence it’s impossible to determine just what teams will be playing in the Champions League this coming season.
