Jamie Donaldson dreams to win the ISPS Handa Wales Open
Jamie Donaldson desires to end his winless career, by winning the ISPS Handa Wales Open, scheduled from May 31 to June 3, 2012.
He turned professional in 2000 and since then, won four professional tournaments. Among the four wins, he recorded three at the Challenge Tour.
He triumphed at BMW Russian Open and Telia Grand Prix in 2001. Similarly, he was impressive at the Abierto Telefonica de Guatemala in 2007. After these three Challenge Tour wins, he won another title,  the Mauritius Golf Open in 2008.
The 36-year-old Welsh professional golf player strived hard while playing at the European Tour staged events. However, he failed to record a win for about 252 times.
The upcoming ISPS Handa Wales Open will be the 253rd European Tour staged event, where Donaldson will be trying his luck at The Celtic Manor Resort in the City of Newport, Wales.
It is expected that he can be on the top of the leaderboard, as the tournament is staged at his home soil and players usually perform well at home courses.
“My goal in any tournament is to win, and it would be great,” said Donaldson. “But it would be especially fantastic to win here. So we just need to play well this week and put four good rounds together”.
“It's great coming back down to Wales. I've played here loads, and we had a good tournament here last year, not too far away.”
“It's not something that we talk about massively between the lads me. It's obviously extra special when it's your home tournament, but everybody wants to win every tournament they play in. It's particularly special to win your home Open - everyone's looking
forward to doing that”.
He started the 2012 season from the Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship and finished on the 30th position. Then he displayed a much better performance at the Omega Dubai Desert Classic and recorded the 16th position.
Then he finished on the third position at the Trophee Hassan II. This was the best finish from him in the current year. Now he is heading to his homeland and has ample chances to be impressive throughout the four days.
