Jamie Farr Toledo Classic 2012: Chella Choi ties for second position at the end of second round

Chella Choi of South Korea shot a 66 in the first round of Jamie Farr Toledo Classic 2012 to tie for the second position along with five other LPGA (Ladies Professional Golf Association) stars.
Choi kicked off her round with plenty of confidence as she looked determined to prove her mettle in an event being graced by players like current world number one Yani Tseng, fellow South Korean Na Yeon Choi
who is the defending champion of the tournament, Stacy Lewis of the United States and Suzann Pettersen.
Other five players sharing the second spot with Choi include Thai Numa Gulyanamitta, Angela Stanford of the United States, Japanese Mika Miyazato, French Karine Icher and Meredith Duncan of the United States.
Starting her round from the 10th hole, Choi carded a par, which helped her boost confidence. She then parred the 11th hole as well and shot her first birdie on the par-4 12th.
After parring the 13th, 14th and 15th, the young prodigy stunned the spectators as she drained two back-to-back birdies on the 16th and 17th hole.
Despite the fearsome roster packed with competent contenders from across the world, Choi stayed firm and did not let nerve overcome her. She made perfect putts on most of the holes, consolidating her position
on the leaderboard.
The rising LPGA star looked as stunning at the next phase as she was at the start of the $1.3 million tournament. She drained a birdie on the first hole and parred the next two holes. On the fourth hole, she
displayed a solid performance once again as she carded another birdie.
Speaking to the media about her performance, the South Korean golfer said that she is pretty happy after getting off to a sensible start, and will try to keep the momentum going in the next three rounds.
The first day saw steady rain, which made it difficult for players to make perfect putts on some holes.
“Very solid day today, starting 1st hole to 18 hole.  But No. 5, rain came. Green condition is a little bit slow, so I hit second shot, par 3 tee shot, par 5 third shot I hit the pin.  Little bit easy than
yesterday.  Yesterday five yards before hole.  You know what I mean?” Choi said.
