Jamie Farr Toledo Classic 2012: Hee Kyung Seo stood her ground in first three rounds
South Korean Hee Kyung Seo, who displayed a spectacular performance in the first three rounds of the Jamie Farr Toledo Classic 2012, could not maintain her momentum in the last round of the LPGA (Ladies Professional Golf Association) tournament finishing tied for 9th on the leaderboard.
Seo was very confident about her skills as she vowed to continue her amazing form while speaking to the media at the end of the third round.
She said that her plan was to keep the pressure intact on her rivals in the fourth round and do something amazing this time.
The South Korean star, who fired a stunning 66 in the second round to tie for the second spot along with two other players, faltered on the fourth day as she posted a 73.
When Seo finished her third round by shooting a solid 68, she had convinced herself that she was in a stronger position and remaining in contention would not be an uphill task for her. However, mistakes on some holes on the last day took a toll on her overall position, dragging her down to the 9th position on the leaderboard.
When asked at the end of the third round that how she felt after posting another good score, Seo said that her game improved quite a lot thanks to her flawless performance in the second round.
She went on to say that despite a strong field and a rough weather conditions that brought strong winds in the first two days, she played a much better game, as her putting was exceptionally good.
The South Korean golfer was keen to point out that the only thing that helped her remain in contention in the first three rounds was patience.
“The shot was better than yesterday, so I can see through it to the target. I made lots of good putts. Obviously I started with bogey, but I tried to be patient. At the back nine I had two bogeys. I could not concentrate at that hole,” Seo said. “I don't know why. I was just trying to keep positive thinkings, bring energy up. I got great bounce‑back on next hole with eagle”.
