Jamie Farr Toledo Classic brings back fun memories, says Paula Creamer
American Paula Creamer, who won the 2008 Jamie Farr Toledo Classic in impressive style, said that she loves to play the prestigious tournament as “it brings back so many fun memories”.
Creamer is set to take part in the 2012 edition of Jamie Farr Toledo Classic, which is going to be held at Highland Meadows Golf Club, Ohio, from August 9-12.
The American star might not have repeated her 2009 performance in the last edition, played in 2010, but she has vowed to surprise her fans this time, saying she knows the course and field well.
Speaking to the media about how she is going to fare against rivals, Creamer said that she is aware of the strong field that is featuring competent players, but it is hard to predict who is going to steal the show, as dramatic results cannot be ruled out at Ohio.
“It feels great, every time I’ve played this event it brings back so many fun memories. This is such a fun golf course, anything can happen out there and we’ve seen that in the past. To have won, the whole Pink Panther and Owens Corning it’s been interesting that’s for sure,” the LPGA (Ladies Professional Golf Association) titan said.
Creamer went on to say that the last editions had to face multiple issues — and one of them was weather. Rough weather troubled players in some of the past editions of Jamie Farr Toledo Classic, making it difficult for contenders to play with ease.
She said that despite weather having played havoc in some of the editions, fans at Ohio have been very supportive, and this is what keeps players motivated throughout the four days.
“We’ve gone through a lot of weather issues here and what not but the fans here are what makes this golf tournament. They love women’s golf and it shows with how many years this tournament has been here,” American prodigy said.
The field of the upcoming battle is fearsome, as it contains players like Stacy Lewis, Brittany Lincicome, current world number one Yani Tseng, Suzann Pettersen, Cristie Kerr, Brittany Lang, Vicky Hurst, I.K. Kim, Ai Miyazato, Na Yeon Choi who is defending her title, Mika Miyazato, Natalie Gulbis and other LPGA stars.
