Jamie Harrison, the budding young Durham all-rounder, wants to emulate the performances of his teammate, Ben Stokes, and revealed that his dream is to play international cricket for http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c749 one day.
The 20-year-old Stokes is one of the finest young cricketers in England and has already made a massive impact on county cricket. The all-rounder, who was born in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/New-Zealand-c754, has already made five hundreds in his short first-class career so far. On
top of that, the left-arm medium pacer has grabbed 39 scalps.
Stokes made his international debut for England in 2011 and has played five One Day Internationals and two T20s till date. The hard-hitting batsman is yet to make an impression at the highest stage of the game but he is considered to be the future
of English cricket.
Harrison, who is a close friend of Stokes, has made his first-class debut this season and vows to have a long career ahead of him. The young all-rounder hopes that he will be given sufficient chances by Durham in the coming years, as he is looking
to use county cricket as a platform to make his way to the international arena.
“I’ve played cricket with him since he came over from New Zealand, and he’s one of my best mates. It was good to share my first-team debut with him.
Hopefully I can play as much first-team cricket for http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Durham-c782. My ambition is to play to the best standard I can and hopefully play for England one day,” he expressed.
The 21-year-old cricketer is new in the county circuit but still there are some question marks over his fitness level, because of a bulky physique.
The left-arm fast bowler is motivated to work hard to enhance his skills and for this purpose, Harrison played club cricket in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746 in the last season and feels that it was an amazing experience for him to play in different playing conditions.
Harrison added, “I played a lot of cricket and bowled a lot of long spells in the heat, to get as fit as I could for when I got back to England. It was a great environment to be in, an ideal situation.”
