  1. I think he's entitled to his opinion.  Most people's diets do leave a lot to be desired.

  2. if he said it, it's because the Brits have a reputation of eating bland, pale overcooked food.Is it that the wet conditions don't favor fresh verdent vegies? But I imagine that it's so.

  3. most probably correct as they have to make do with what they have so their cuisine can be more diverse, yet it is wrong to say that our cuisine is plain and not varied we have casseroles, but with it a variety, i hate jamie oliver im from rothers where hes made his ministry of food program only cause dinner ladys passed food through school gates, making rotherham seem a bad place when it aint, i can cook i dont need him to tell me how

  4. It's true that there are a large number of Brits who's diets are atrocious.

Although the diets of people living in slums around the world are a lot fresher than said atrocious British diets (they'll buy fresh food daily), it is an unfair statement.

In slums people are generally living on/under the breadline and will be undernourished, living mainly on staple foods supplemented with protein and fresh fruit and vegetables when the money is available to buy it.  Although what they are eating may be fresher, I think it is a totally unfair comparison to make.

As a Brit, I also don't like to be tarred with the same brush as people who eat terrible diets and who don't sit around the table.  While I agree with some of his comments about how so many people are living this way of life, it should be remembered that their are still many Brits who love to prepare fresh, healthy meals every day, and who sit around the table together to eat them.

  5. Hark at him..hardly a great picture of rude health, is he?  Rice and contaminated water more diverse than our food...ok.
