Jamie Redknapp praises Manchester United’s winning mentality – EPL news
Former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 midfielder Jamie Redknapp has praised the club’s bitter rivals Manchester United, claiming that the Red Devils have a winning mentality that allows them to pull out positive results even when the odds are against them.
Redknapp, who has made almost 250 appearances for Liverpool, knows well what Manchester United are capable of when they have their backs to the wall. Redknapp has gone up against the Red Devils numerous times, and has seen victory snatched away by last minute
goals on more than one occasion.
The former Reds midfielder said, “Love them or hate them, there's no team in Premier League history that has scored so many important late goals as Manchester United. They've broken my heart many times. It's bred into every player that a game is not over
till it's over.”
He added, “Sir Alex Ferguson takes chances, throws attacking players on and is rewarded for it. Players win games; managers change them.”
It is widely believed that Manchester United are not the world-beaters they once were. The Red Devils that tore teams apart in previous seasons seem a shadow of their former selves. Sir Alex Ferguson’s men have hardly shifted into high gear since the start
of the 2010-11 campaign, but they just cannot seem to stop winning.
Despite their poor form, Manchester United have been nigh untouchable at the summit of the Premier League table. The Red Devils went through the first half of the campaign unbeaten, and they have lost only thrice so far.
They continued to ride their luck over the weekend with a narrow 1-0 victory over Bolton Wanderers. United were reduced to ten men after Johnny Evans was sent off for a horrible tackle, giving Owen Coyle’s men a fantastic chance to go on and take maximum
points.
But Manchester United’s http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Dimitar-Berbatov-c11254 scored a late winner to once again ensure all three points for his side. Many would call it luck, but Jamie Redknapp believes it is United’s pedigree that allows them to get results when the chips are down.
With Sunday’s win against Bolton, the Red Devils opened up a five-point lead at the top of the Barclays Premier League.
