Jamie Sadlowski still struggles with his winning form
Famous due to his long and powerful hits, Jamie Sadlowski has once again sparked a debate about his performance. Though he gave his competitors a tough time on the course and managed to perform well, he could not move on, causing fans to lose their confidence
in him.
Despite his slumping performance in recent tournaments, Sadlowski has shown in the past that he has resilience and confidence to defeat any long hitter. The 24-year-old Canadian is said to be one of the best longest drivers. His most amazing and longest
drive is 445 yards that came in year 2010.
Moreover, what makes him more prominent among other players is that he won the RE/MAX World Long Drive Championship consecutively in 2008 and 2009.
Two consecutive victories in one of the most prestigious tournaments earned him great respect. However, he could not win the Championship in 2010, as the Joe Miller from the United Kingdom came off well, sidelining his rivals.
The two-time long drive winner faced yet another downer when he could perform his best in the Albertson Boise Open in 2010. Before the event, observers had made many predictions about his performance. With some saying he would at least make the cut in the
event. His performance was bad that it seemed to overshadow his past victories. He finished tied for 75th, as all the four rounds he played were marred with bogeys.
He started the first round by recording 4 unwanted bogies. The only good move he could make was reeling off birdies on the par-5 3rd hole and the par-4 7th. He came off miserable on the back nine, tainting his scorecard with 3 bogeys. The first round was
worse than expected, with 1-over 73.
He faltered in 3rd and 4rth round as well. Unlike his best form in the Long Drive Championship, he looked completely shattered, as the final two rounds were tainted with bogeys. The young Canadian started the 3rd round with a bogey and 2 consecutive birdies
on the par-5 2nd and the par-5 3rd hole.
Despite all the talk of poor performance in 2010 Albertson Boise Open, Sadlowski showed that he has what it takes to compete against big names.
Sadlowski's success story runs back years, as in 2005 and 2006, he performed incredibly well in the World Long Drive Junior Championship, outplaying rivals with ease.
He has always attracted fans because of his incredibly strong hits. His unusual performance helped him win two tournaments specifically designed for long drivers. His one of the most spectacular performances was beating big names like Bubba Watson and Robert
Garrigus in a long drive tournament in 2010.
His beating prominent players led many observers to think that he could also make a name for himself in other events. But unfortunately, he could not come up to his fans' expectations and missed out on plenty of opportunities to win events on different tours.
Another factor that sets the 24-year-oldSadlowski apart is his ability to use both hands for hitting. Though left-handed right from his early childhood; he comes off well hitting the ball with the right hand as well. Observers commonly attribute his strong
hits to his participation in hockey matches. Since he had been an outstanding ice hockey player in his youth, he learnt meaningful tactics to hit longer. This is what his father said of his amazing driving skills.
Keeping in view his remarkable performance in the long driving events, he has yet to prove his worth in other tournaments as well. It remains to be seen whether he will break his winning drought or keep faltering.
