Jamie Walker ousts Bobby Cruickshanks while Ben Harrison beats Shehzad Iqbal: Q School Round 1
Jamie Walker and Ben Harrison have cruised into the second round of Qualifying School (Q School) at the end of the second day, at the World Snooker Academy in Sheffield. They thrashed Bobby Cruickshanks
and Shehzad Iqbal respectively in round one to book their spots.
Walker faced a bit of resistance from his opponent Cruickshanks, while Harrison crushed Iqbal completely as he took control of the game from the very beginning and whitewashed him by 4-0 in the end.

Walker showed a tremendous potting display during his first-round match against Cruickshanks, as he defeated him 4-2 on Day 2.
A stunning half-century clearance of 59 in the first frame brought Walker one frame up over his opponent and he grabbed a quick 1-0 lead. The Englishman, Walker, extended his lead to 2-0 after he
took the second frame with a rattling knock of 57.
Walker was on top of his game as he didn’t let his opponent come at the table. He unsettled Cruickshanks after the end of the third frame when he took it convincingly by 70-20 to move to a three frame
lead at 3-0.
However, Cruickshanks bounced back and replied with back-to-back frame wins with scores of 39-65 and 19-84 to decrease Walker’s lead to 3-2. Walker needed only one frame win to storm into the second
round which he took easily with the score of 69-4. The frame scores of the match were 82(59)-37, 64(57)-57, 70-20, 39-65, 19-84 and 69-4.
Ben Harrison 4-0 Shehzad Iqbal
The Pakistani cueman, Shehzad Iqbal, couldn’t make his presence felt at the World Snooker Academy in Sheffield as he got a whitewash defeat at the hands of the Englishman, Ben Harrison, by 4-0 in
the first round.
Iqbal went into a close encounter only in the last frame of the match that ended in Harrison’s favour 65-53. However, in the previous three frames, Harrison swept the table brilliantly with his cue
stick, firing excellent knocks including a superb century clearance of 133 in the very first frame.
The final frame score was 133 (133)-0, 64-12, 77 (76)-9 and 65-53.
