Jammu & Kashmir v Andhra – http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Kumar-Shri-Ranjitsinhji-c71870 Trophy, 2012/13 (Group C) – Match Update – Andhra crush J+K by an innings and 15 runs
A concentrated all-round performance from Andhra saw the team going on to clinch a massive victory, by an innings and 15 runs, over Jammu & Kashmir, during their Group C match in the ongoing Ranji Trophy, played at the Gandhi Memorial Science College Ground
in Jammu, from November 24 to 26.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Andhra-c764 were in control from the very beginning, and after winning the toss and putting J+K to bat first, proceeded to bowl them out for a meagre first innings total of 153. Syed Sahabuddin (19-7-53-5) spearheaded the attack, and was supported by Rajesh Pawar
(8.5-0-24-2) and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Paidikalva-Vijaykumar-c2150 (11-3-25-2). Meanwhile, none of J+K’s batsmen were able to capitalise on their starts, with Ram Dayal’s 31 being the top-score, while wicketkeeper batsman Manish Dogra (30) and Rohit Bhat (28) were the only other key
players.
Andhra’s first innings got off to a faltering start, with top-order batsmen Prasanth Kumar (0), Tekkami Atchuta Rao (4), and wicketkeeper batsman Vamsi Krishna (0) all dismissed without having put up much of a fight. J+K’s Ram Dayal (31.1-15-63-5) appeared
to have the situation under control, but Andhra’s middle and lower order staged a remarkable comeback.
Skipper http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Bodapati-Sumanth-c48211 (41) all chipped in with sizeable contributions. Andhra were eventually bowled, but managed to post a
decent first innings total of 390.
J+K, in response, were unable to top their opponents’ performance, and Vijaykumar (18-9-33-3), Atchuta Rao (17-7-40-3), and Shaik Basha (22-7-79-3) all ensured that J+K were kept well within line. Skipper http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ian-Dev-Singh-c1570 (65), Ram Dayal (47), and Sahil Sharma
(44*) remained the main contributors, but their performances were not enough to resuscitate the team’s innings.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Aditya-Pratap-Singh-c42027 (25), Manish Dogra (13), and Shubham Khajuria (12) all failed to apply themselves at the crease, and the rest were unable to surpass single digits. Struggling to rise above the assaults of Andhra’s bowling attack, J+K eventually collapsed
all out at 222, with Andhra going on to claim victory by an innings and 15 runs.
