Jamr hits a hat trick at the Dubai World Cup Carnival by winning the Swaidan Trading Company – VDL handicap on 20th January
The four-year-old, Jamr, trained by M bin Shafya, struck his first hat trick by winning three handicaps in a row, the third race being the Swaidan Trading Company – VDL handicap on 20th January.

The race was part of the four handicaps that marked the fourth fixture of the Dubai World Cup Carnival, 2012.
Saeed bin Suroor trained, Royal Revival, took the lead early, but after heading two furlongs out, he could not match the pace of the rest of the lot that was closing in.

The other entry representing Saeed bin Suroor was, Club Oceanic. The 2 to1 favourite did become prominent initially, but very soon faded by mid-division. Lyssio and Mantoba were pursuing these leaders, before they got shadowed.
Tracking the group that was dictating the pace, Jamr, riding with Pat Cosgrave, led two furlongs out, and countered competition in the final 100 yards.

Mahmood Al Zarooni trained, Measuring Time, was battling for his share of the final strides, but was ridden over by Jamr, who held on strongly and defeated Measuring Time by a shoulder’s margin.
Mickael Barzalona’s ride, Measuring Time finished second while Sirvino, entered by David Barron, was placed third. Both the trainees of Saeed bin Suroor concluded the race one after the other, Club Oceanic was fifth with Frankie Dettori, while Royal
Revival came sixth riding with Silvestre De Sousa.
Jamr raced only once in 2010 and was unsuccessful. He then raced four times during the 2011 season, and could only claim a handicap during his last attempt, the Ford Edge Trophy on 23rd December at Meydan, the race was a part
of the Carnival that had taken off in November, 2011.
Next he won the Longines Master Moon Phases on 6th January 2012, during the second fixture of the Carnival, Jamr forced Al Raihe trained Sharaayeen, the 5 to 4 favourite to finish in second.
Thus the most recent victory stands out to be his third straight win at the Carnival. and has made him collect two victories already at the beginning of the new season.

His chances this year are growing and growing. The proud trainer, M bin Shafya can start considering Jamr for some serious races through the course of the year.
