The Czech footballer has hailed his side’s character after they drew their latest Russian Premier League tie 2-2 against Anzhi Makhachkala on Sunday
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Rostov-c39192 managed to secure a hard fought point in the latest Russian Premier League tie against the mega-rich Dagestani club at Stadion Olimp 2. Though the hosts got in front at one time, an injury time goal prevneted them from
taking all three points from the game.
In aftermath of the outcome, FC Rostov striker, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jan-Holenda-c17764, has hailed his side’s character and the never-say-die attitude after they succeeded to please their fans by claiming a vital point at home.
Holenda, who managed to open his goal-scoring account after coming off the bench during the second-half, admitted that his side deserved to get all the plaudits for their quality performance in the crunch league encounter against
a star-studded squad, and assured the fans of similar performances in the upcoming matches.
Rostov played the league tie on the back of a 1-0 defeat against CSKA Moscow last week. Holenda has urged his team-mates to display similar performances in the upcoming matches as well. The RSM will now play against Mordovia Saransk
next Monday.
The Czech footballer admitted that it was a special feeling to play against a team for which he had played for the last two years. Holenda, who moved to Rostov earlier this month from the Makhachkala-based club, insisted that he
played to his strength during the match.
“It’s always been nice to play here, at Rostov-on-Don. At this beautiful stadium, we can sense a great football atmosphere. I just came off the bench and scored a goal - nothing special (laughs).” The former FK Drnovice player
was quoted as saying.
The former Sparta Prague player went on to praise Miodrag Bozovic, insisting that the Montenegrin football manager will help his side claim a decent spot in the league this season.
Holenda, who scored six goals in 24 league appearances last season, has assured the fans of an improved performance this time around. He was of the view that he does not care about how many goals he will score as long as the team
keeps on winning.
