Jan O Jorgensen slays Chen Jin in Men’s Singles quarter-final at Yonex All England Open
Denmark’s spirited player Jan O Jorgensen surprised the world by reaching into Men’s Singles semi-final after crushing his higher ranked rival Chen Jin of China in quarter-final encounter of Yonex All England Open Badminton Championships 2013 on Friday,
March 8, in England.
The un-seeded Danish shuttler, who played attacking badminton in all of his matches in this premier super series tournament, played with incredible speed and remained successful in crushing the fifth seeded Jin in just 37 minutes.
Jorgensen was at his best in the arena as he displayed his attacking skills and maintained pressure on his Chinese opponent all the way. He did not show any respect for Jin and thrashed him in straight games with a crushing margin of 21-7 and 21-14.
The higher ranked Jin, on the contrary, was completely out of touch as he failed to create pressure on his Danish rival at any stage and eventually lost this quarter-final battle in a humiliating way without even getting close on the score board.
Jorgensen played with superb control in his shots and managed to control the affairs from starting points of the first set. The tempo of the rallies was quite fast in first game and Jorgensen entertained local fans with his lofty craft.
It was Jorgensen who did not show any mercy to his aggressive rival in the starting half and secured a superb lead on score board.
After the mid-game break, Jorgensen was focused in the arena and remained successful in keeping a reasonable lead.
It was a smooth sailing for the impressive Jorgensen who did not face any reasonable resistance from his rival and won the first game with a staggering 21-7 margin on the board.
Jin was once again in problem in the following set as he received a punishing treatment from his challenger who was at his best in the arena.
Jorgensen was in incredible control of the game and he remained successful in establishing a staggering difference until the one-minute break.
In the ending half of second game, the incredible Jorgensen continued his smooth sailing and easily bagged the game by a superb score of 21-14.
