Jane Lachatte favourite for Weatherbys Bloodstock Insurance Handicap
Jane Lachatte is likely to prevail in the Weatherbys Bloodstock Insurance Handicap at Epsom in England on Thursday, July 19, 2012. A total of six other runners will be combating her in order to win the cash prize of £5,175 form the class-4 event.
Rain has affected a lot of races this summer and the track at Epsom is also good to soft because of some overnight showers. The organisers will be hoping for a sunny day, so that the spectators can enjoy all the action without any problems.
Stamina will be crucial in the race, as the runners will have to cover an overall distance of 1 mile, 2 furlongs and 18 yards. The action is scheduled to start at 19:45 GMT and all eyes will be set on Jane Lachatte, who has been given a general starting
price of 4 to 1 by the bookmakers. She will definitely enjoy the track conditions today, thus the punters will be keeping her in mind while placing their bets.
The three-year-old filly has been around for quite a few months and has delivered some decent results for her team during this period of time. Her strike rate is not on the positive side, which is a bit disappointing fact, but she does have the potential
to fight at the front with consistency.
The Stuart Williams’ trainee made her debut in competitive racing back in September 2011 and she did a decent job in her first ever appearance. She was one of the least favourite runners to fight for victory, but still finished in a reasonable fifth place.
However, the young filly struggled to match her rivals in her next race and had to settle for 10th back then. This was her last race of that season and she made her next appearance in February 2012.
Just like her debut year, the Irish runner finished fifth in her first race of the ongoing season. However, things changed for her when she ran at Epsom for the first time, recording her maiden victory back then.
Jane Lachatte took part in one more race at Epsom and scored another victory at this venue, which clearly shows that she likes the conditions here. Today will be her third appearance on this track and she will be partnered by William Carson, who helped her
prevail in her first race at Epsom.
