Jane Rah thinks her rookie year was "best"
There is still a lot that American Jane Rah can learn from giants like Stacy Lewis and Paula Creamer, but the amateur star has shown in the 2012 season that she aspires to become one of the
best players in women’s golf.
Rah, needless to say, made plenty of mistakes in the recently concluded season as she missed the cut in 11 out of total 16 LPGA (Ladies Professional Golf Association) tournaments. However,
she showed a brilliant performance in some of the tournaments—reflecting that she has what it takes to lead a successful professional career.
Rah recently shared her thoughts while speaking to the LPGA Tour, explaining how her rookie year went.  She described her 2012 season as “complete,” putting her trust in her abilities.
The American star displayed the best performance at the CN Canadian Women’s Open 2012, posting an overall score of 283 to take the share of 9th position on the leaderboard.
The CN Canadian Women’s Open is known for featuring a fearsome field, but things went as smooth for the young gun as an amateur event. She got off to a sensible start to her campaign, carding
a 71 in the first round.
The last round of the four-day tournament saw her in best shape as she registered a 69 to further cement her position on the leaderboard.
Rah said that since she was playing her rookie year, she had no idea how to tackle pressure in some events. But it worked well, helping her learn how to battle professional rivals on the
course.
“Since it was my rookie year, the best so far”.
Another factor that makes Jah stand out among rookie stars is “consistency.” She said that she displayed a balanced performance in some of the events, never wavering despite missing the cut
in most of the early tournaments.
Speaking of the new season, Jah said that she is preparing for the tournaments because her plan is to take a step further in pursuing her career. “Reevaluating this year and making new goals,”
she said.
The young star will play as amateur, but she pointed out that she is focusing on improving her skills and “gaining more distance”.
