Janet Y Hu clinches Girls 100m freestyle gold – 2012 NCSA/Itoman Allstar Meet
Janet Y HU of NCSA clinched gold medal of the Girls 100m freestyle on concluding day of the 2012 NCSA/Itoman Allstar Meet at the Golden West Swim Club in Golden West College on Sunday, September 23.
Hu lived up to the expectations of her supporters in the double lap freestyle event, as she enjoyed a comfortable lead over her opponents and pocketed gold medal of the race.
She gained a comfortable lead over her challengers from the start and paved her way to the finishing wall for the title.
With her unrelenting efforts, Hu enjoyed a full body length lead over her competitors and surfaced on the finishing blockade for gold medal by clocking an incredible effort of 57.02 seconds.
The gold medallist was chased by Megumi Ito of Itoman, who remained 0.87 seconds apart and stepped on the victory stand for second position by clocking a time of 57.89 seconds.
Ito remained 0.41 seconds ahead of Moeka Kanai of Itoman, who transpired on the finishing blockade as third position holder by submitting a time of 58.30 seconds.
Kanai was chased by Abby L Jagdfeld of NCSA, who stayed 0.41 seconds apart and transpired on the finishing blockade by submitting a time of 58.71 seconds.
Fifth best spot of the event was obtained by Katherine G Drabot of NCSA, who stayed 0.10 seconds slower from overpowering her foregoing finisher and reported an effort of 58.81 seconds.
Drabot remained 0.68 seconds faster from Rika Takagi of Itoman, who proved her eligibility for sixth best spot of the race by producing an effort of 59.49 seconds.
Takagi was traced by Jessica R Short of NCSA, who stayed 0.12 seconds away from her foregoing finisher and made her way to the wall as seventh best finisher with a timing of 59.61 seconds.
Eighth spot of the freestyle discipline was obtained by Natsuki Maruyama of Itoman, who failed to upset any of her competitors and settled on the wall with a timing of 59.75 seconds.
In addition, Hu received huge round of applause from the audience for her notable efforts in the 100m discipline.
