Janet Y Hu grabs Girls 50m freestyle gold – 2012 NCSA/Itoman Allstar Meet
Janet Y Hu of NCSA grabbed gold medal of the Girls 50m freestyle on day one of the 2012 NCSA/Itoman Allstar Meet at the Golden West Swim Club in Golden West College on Friday, September 21.
Hu dictated terms to her opponents in the single lap freestyle event and earned her way to the top of podium for gold medal. Hu sustained her fastest qualification spot of the event as she went full rampant in the shortest freestyle discipline and secured
the crown of the event.
Hu stayed one body length ahead of her following swimmer and tapped the wall for gold medal with a timing of 26.11 seconds.
Her incredible pace was followed by Moeka Kanai of Itoman, who suffered a deficit of 0.80 seconds over her foregoing finisher and tapped the wall with an effort of 26.91 seconds for silver medal.
Kanai was followed by Konoha Shinada of Itoman, who stayed only 0.20 seconds away from upsetting her preceding swimmer and stepped on the victory stand for third position by concluding her race in a time of 27.11 seconds.
Fourth best qualifying position of the event was obtained by Taylor M Vincent of NCSA, who remained 0.39 seconds behind and surfaced on the finishing blockade with a timing of 27.50 seconds.
Subsequently, Vincent was trailed by Megumi Ito of Itoman, who remained only 0.07 seconds slower and occupied fifth position of the race by producing a time of 27.57 seconds.
Sixth spot of the event was secured by Jessica R Short of NCSA, who stayed 0.12 seconds slower and finished her race in a time of 27.69 seconds.
Short remained just 0.01 seconds ahead of Paige L Maynard of NCSA, who completed her swim in seventh place by reporting a time of 27.70 seconds.
Maynard was chased by Yukiko Watanabe of Itoman, who was 0.07 seconds behind and surfaced on the finishing end as eighth best finisher by posting a time of 27.77 seconds.
In addition, Hu received massive appreciation from the audience for her commendable form and articulated that she would work hard to achieve the same at higher levels.
