Janie Jackson ready to prove her mettle at Magnolia Grove
Janie Jackson may not be as competent as Paula Creamer or Suzann Pettersen, but she likes to put her confidence in her capabilities, which is why, she has decided to put her skills to test at the Mobile Bay LPGA Classic, scheduled to start this week.
The Mobile Classic is going underway from April 26-29, at Magnolia Grove’s Crossings Course. Jackson qualified due to her stunning performance at the Class 6A high school state championship.
Jackson has been a prominent player at Huntsville High School for a long time, as she has recorded several achievements throughout her stint.
Winning the Class 6A high school state championship was the most spectacular, as it helped her qualify for the upcoming Mobile Bay LPGA Classic.
Despite the strong field that features players such as the world number ten Paula Creamer, Suzann Pettersen, Lexi Thompson and Si Ri Pak, Jackson said that she is determined to show her skills.
She displayed a consistent game at Huntsville, as she beat Casie Cathrea in the final round of the championship. She made calculated putts on most of the holes. She won the title in the playoff.
The match entered into a decisive phase, but Jackson kept putting pressure on her rivals. She surprised everyone on the course when she went for a downhill putt.
“Maybe a little, just kind of knowing what the holes were doing,” the young star said of the final moments.
In addition to experienced players, there will be several lesser-known contenders, making the battle a bit easier for Jackson.
Kim Hall, who has been out of LPGA (Ladies Professional Golf Association) Tour events since 2009, has been given yet another chance to prove her worth. Hall has vowed to do her best at Magnolia Grove’s Crossings Course.
Analysts said that it is quite appreciative that the officials of the Mobile Bay LPGA Classic have given plenty of chances to rising players. They said that the step will prove beneficial both for players and the LPGA officials.
The defending champion of the tournament, Maria Hjorth, has already confirmed her commitment to participate in the much-hyped event as well.
