Janko Tipsarevic denies any claims of doping at the elite tennis platform – Tennis News
World number 10, Janko Tipsarevic, was amused to hear the doping claims from several authoritative personalities and clearly rejected the rumour that tennis is surrounded by players who are doping to stay fit and meet the gigantic
physical requirement of the sport.
Talking to the CNN representatives, Tipsarevic confessed, “I live in the belief that we are playing a clean sport. If there is doping involved, maybe there is, maybe there isn't. But I can guarantee you that the people I'm hanging
around with, none of them (are) doping.”
He added, “I like things as they are because the international doping agency needs to know every single day of my life where I am and if I'm changing locations. We need to fill out this form to say today we're going to be there
and at any time they can come and test us. On top of that you have the local drug testing.”
Recently, the likes of the 17-time Grand Slam Champion, Roger Federer, claimed that tennis is not free of doping because it is exquisitely naive to consider that one of the biggest global sports doesn’t have any sort of drug cheats.
However, the Serb superstar has refused to comply with the statement of the 31-year-old Swiss legend and told the reporters that all these claims are baseless; tennis is a clean sport.
In February, the Olympics Gold Medallist and the reigning US Open Champion, Andy Murray, also called for better and frequent drug testing so that there is no chance of any player contesting at the elite platform is unclean.
Last year, the 11-time Grand Slam Champion, Rafael Nadal, was accused of doping by the French media representatives but their claims were clearly rejected by the left-handed superhuman who decide to take a legal action from the
reporters of that accusation as well.
It is extremely difficult to understand that a person can play non-stop gruelling tennis rallies for almost six hours just like the reigning world number one, Novak Djokovic, and the King of Clay, Rafael Nadal, played at the final
of the Australian Open last year. However, without any proof, it is not right to claim anything against the unique fitness level of tennis athletes of modern era.
