Janko Tipsarevic geared up to shine bright at 2012 Mubadala World Tennis Championship – Tennis News
Serbian number two, Janko Tipsarevic, hasn’t been that much effective in the 2012 ATP season than he was last year but he is eyeing to have an impactful start to the upcoming professional circuit. The world number nine is all set
to take up the challenge at the Mubadala World Tennis Championship in Abu Dhabi, where he will face the top ranked contenders in the exhibition encounters.
The 28-year-old Serb will take off his campaign against the reigning world number three and the US Open champion, Andy Murray, on 27th of December 2012. Tipsarevic is very excited to face the in-form Briton and his debut
at Abu Dhabi, aiming to beat all the overpowering odds and come out as the champion. He is also geared up to take on the current world number one and his fellow compatriot, Novak Djokovic, in the exhibition event.
“I’m sure Andy will have a big following in Abu Dhabi but I’m looking forward to the challenge and I’ve a good record against him. Novak won the Mubadala World Tennis Championship last year and told me what a fantastic time he’d
had in Abu Dhabi. The crowd, facilities and weather were great and that it was a really good way to prepare for the Australian Open in January so I was delighted to be invited to play this year.”
It will be a real test of skills for the 28-year-old to compete against other five of the Top-10 male players in the world but his confidence is sky high. The Mubadala World Tennis Championship will also feature the return of the
King of Clay, Rafael Nadal, who will play his first match since 2012 Wimbledon Championships. The winner of the encounter between Tipsarevic and Murray will go on to face Nadal in the semi-final round of the tournament. The defending champion, Djokovic, also
received a bye to have a direct access to the semi-final stage of the competition.
Tipsarevic has been in sublime form and the past two years have brought out the best out of him. He has been the top-tenner throughout this year and desires to rise even further.
