best ranking of number eight right after that.
Tipsarevic said in a recent interview with Times of India, “It was as my goal to break into the top eight and the fact that I was able to do it this year itself was both satisfying and fulfilling.”
The Serbian number two is hoping that he would make even better start to the next season by winning the Aircel Chennai Open in the first week of 2013. The right-hander had lost to Canada’s Milos Raonic in the final in 2012 edition
of the same tournament.
Tipsarevic added, “I see it more as a good start to the year. I really hope I can go one step further this year and make a winning finish.”

team mates and very good friends now.
He went on to say, “It's never easy playing against Novak. After all, it's not for nothing that he's is the best player in the world for two years in a row now.”
Tipsarevic had stunned Djokovic in straight sets in the quarter-finals of the Mutua Madrid Open but was beaten pretty badly in the semi-finals of the Rogers Cup later on in the season.

Tipsarevic added, “We have a lot of youngsters playing tennis now in the country because the sport is more popular than ever before.”
On the women’s side, Ana Ivanovic and Jelena Jankovic also spent some time as number one in the world rankings in the past years.
