Now that her fellow countrywomen Ivanovic is out of the tournament, do you think it is time for Jelena to step up and win wimbeldon? She is in top form and is hungry NOW for a grand slam since novak and ana have already won them for serbia.

  1. i do ! i think she is #1 now ? duno but i dont see ana regaining the #1 spot anytime fast.

  2. Venus or Serena's to win. Jelena serve is too weak and will get crushed by the Williams sisters on grass. She is not that good.

  3. I dont know because there is still the williams sisters, svetlana kuznetsova and nicole vaidisova etc so she'll have to bring her best tennis to the court.

  4. its her tourny to win

    she has a good chance

she has to watch out for the williams sisters though

  5. This truly is JJ's chance to claim the #1 world ranking as Sharapova and Ivanovic are both out. The only one left with a chance at #1 is Kuznetsova but she is the long shot to get it. Jankovic really needs a good showing with all the top players going down. And your right Jankovic is starving for a Grand Slam title as she is the only one from the Serbian trio not to win a singles GS title (remember she won last year's mixed doubles at Wimbledon with Jamie Murray) yet. She needs to step it up a notch and start playing like a championship caliber player. I really do hope JJ can go all the way and win the Wimbledon championship.

  6. No. Venus is still alive in the draw.

  7. yes she is hungry, she seems in a good form, but I believe Venus a is on her half of the draw, which will make things pretty hard for her. I would like see her winning now that Ivanovic is out and yes she does have a chance, but we'll have to wait and see.

  8. Yes, it is her time. Venus and Serena deserve to lose for once. Jankovic has never won a grand slam nor has she been in a grand slam final. I really think, as you said, that this is her time to shine.

  9. Jankovic i can just stare at her all day!!lol..yep her chance,i really do wish her well...

  10. This is Venus or Serena's to win.  I don't think they're ready to handle the top ranking.  Looks like Ivanovic at least could live up to it....first Djokovic is out, then her.  One more to go......

  11. naw i dont think she has a chance

  12. I dont think she has a chance to win

  13. Well, I will say this much. With Ana out, and not able to deal with her recent slam win and ranking, the favs have to be Venus, Serena, and Jelena. Especially these courts are playing slower this year, it favors Jankovic. Jankovic always says she cant compete on same level as the heavy hitters, or rather she doesnt expect to beat those players, however she always manages to hold her own. With these slower courts, I expect her to continue holding her own, and she too could win her first slam. Perhaps this will be similar to 2004 when The Russians won their first slams, now the Serbs will at same time/same year.

  14. Jelena has all the right shots but her head is very biggest problem.  She can never seem to rise to the occasion yet she is one of the best all rounder right now.  She plays well against seeds below her but when it gets to the top seeds she falls apart.  She also is second best to Ana maybe she will seize this as an opportunity to be the number one player.  Is she wins Wimbledon she can become the top player along with Kuznetsova.  i am sure they are both thinking about it with Ana and Maria gone.
