Question:

Janome 2049 making clunking noise

I have been machine quilting with my Janome 2049.  It has been fine until yesterday evening when I started hearing a strange noise - it seems to be running rough and clunking, worse if I sew quickly.  I tried cleaning the feed dog and the bobbin area (forget the names of the pieces - I took them out though).  The stitches still look fine, though.  Is there something I can do or do I need to take it into the sewing machine shop?  Also, will it hurt the machine for me to continue using it tonight until i can take it into the shop? Thanks!
