Question:

Janome memory craft 4900 - top thread getting caught?

I have a janome memory craft 4900. The top thread is getting caught and it won't sew. As far as I can tell the thread is not releasing off the hook race and winding around it and the bobbin holder. How can I fix this? It was surviced within the last 8 months.

  1. Whenever I run into difficulty as described, I rethread and also

take out the bobbin and re-place it.

Also, take out the bobbin casing and clean it and put a

drop of oil in it. Often the problems are with the tension

of the thread and bobbin. I have had minor problems with

prewound bobbins. Sometimes they are little loo large.

All I do then is cut a little of the cardboard off all around.

    Works fine.

You may also replace the needle. It may be a little bend.

      Good luck.
