The Hamburg SV defender has insisted that his side did not deserve to lose the game against Werder Bremen on Saturday.
Thomas Schaaf’s side went on to secure their first win of the league season against Hamburg SV at the Weserstadion on Saturday, September 1. Aaron Hun and Nils Petersen scored for the hosts in the 2-0 victory as they ended the
game with all three points.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Marcell-Jansen-c23544 insisted that his side were clearly the better team and deserved something better from the away trip. He admitted that it would have been great if the side achieved something from the game prior to going into the
international break.
The defender claimed that the home side did not play well and Rothosen were certainly unlucky not to at least get a point from the fixture. He added that the team wasted a host of opportunities to go ahead and rued missed opportunities
throughout the course of the game.
“It is annoying to lose to a team who in my opinion were not necessarily better than us. It would have been much nicer to go into the two week break with a win to our name. If Bremen had dominated the game we could have held our
hands up and said that we are not as far as a team as we need to be, but it wasn't like that,” the player was quoted as saying in an interview.
On the other hand, Hamburg boss Thorsten Fink added that the players made too many mistakes and blamed the loss on individual errors. He is targeting a strong comeback in the future games and is hopeful that the team will improve.
“We simply made too many individual mistakes. We played better than we did last week and created some good chances. But we have to prevent the kind of mistakes we made today from happening again,” he concluded.
Hamburg will next face Eintracht Frankfurt, who have started the season sensationally with two wins from the first two games. Rothosen are currently 15th on the standings table with no points after two games.
