Hamburg SV midfielder, Marcell Jansen, is happy to commit his future to the club and is looking forward to a successful campaign.

Earlier this week, the midfielder signed a two-year extension to his current deal to stay at the club. The player’s current deal with Hamburg was set to expire at the end of the next season however, the former Borussia Monchengladbach
man added a further two years to the deal and will now stay at the Imtech Arena until 2015.
Jansen claimed that the club had approached him with a new deal to add a further two years to his contract. He added that he had no second thoughts regarding the offer and immediately agreed to honour it. He is delighted by the
faith the club has shown in him and wants to payback the support of the fans after a disappointing season in the Bundesliga.
The midfielder stressed that he will not walk out on the club after the support he had got from Hamburg and is keen to bring success back to Imtech Arena.
“The club approached me with a contract extension. I took it as a compliment and a sign that HSV want me to be a key player for them. For me personally there was no reason to change clubs. I have had good and difficult times here
and knew that I would not just walk away,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
On the other hand, the German international is targeting a good start to the season. He admitted that a winning start is always important and is aiming for a good performance in the upcoming campaign.
“We must become focused from the first game onwards. The first 6 or 7 games are very important. We need have the right tension, fighting spirit and the right attitude, things that were missing at the start of last season,” he concluded.
