With the growing interest of several European clubs in the emerging French talent, there have been increasing speculations linking several star-performers to exit Ligue 1 halfway through this season in the January transfer window
The French Ligue 1 is known for its huge amount of talent that it produces every year. With several of its former stars now playing in one of the world’s biggest leagues, the Ligue 1 has been certainly living up to its expectations.
Many new faces have appeared this season, while others have just started to be acknowledged for their versatile potential. In short, it’s a long list. With several players being expected to leave their current clubs and move to a different club, and a different
league in the upcoming transfer window, here’s a list of players who might be leaving Ligue 1 this January:
Bafetimbi Gomis (http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Olympique-Lyonnais-c40130)
The France International is having a sensational season. Gomis has already scored more than 10 goals in all competitions for Les Gones, and seems keen on scoring more. The striker displayed a few impressive performances that have helped his side reach the
top spot in Ligue 1 this season.
The former AS Saint-Etienne attacker is chased by a number of clubs, following his good form of late. The Frenchman has been heavily linked with Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur, and could possibly move to the English Premier League.
With Lyon appearing to have financial issues at hand, the club would not be reluctant to sell their star player, provided a lucrative offer is made.
Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa (Montpellier Herault SC)
La Paillade’s captain has been a consistent performer throughout this season, and is a reliable center-back. The defender has served well during his tenure at the Stade de la Mosson.
There are rumours suggesting that the Bangui-born player might be moving to a London-based club this season, with Arsenal and Chelsea reportedly interested in the 23-year-old defender. However, nothing concrete has surfaced yet, the transfer widow would
be able to confirm whether the speculations were true or not.
Loic Remy (Olympique de Marseille)
Remy had two successful stints with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Olympique-de-Marseille-c40127, and has been their leading goal scorer for the previous two seasons. However, the striker hasn’t been given the same amount of importance in the 2012/13 campaign. Moreover, due to his injury problems,
Les Phoceens tend to avoid relying too much on the France international.
The 25-year-old has attracted attention from several clubs, who seem keen on bolstering their attacking options by adding the former OGC Nice player. Queens Park http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rangers-c40314 and Everton are among the interested parties, who intend to lure the Marseille forward
to their respective offices.
Etienne Capoue (Toulouse FC)
The young midfielder is having a good season with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Toulouse-FC-c40751. Capoue has proved to be an essential element Les Pitchouns’ midfield. The 24-year-old is said to have made the most number of passes in the Ligue 1, which just goes on to show how vital the player
is.
The defensive midfielder’s form has recently attracted interest from several clubs including http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/SL-Benfica-c40542, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur, with the latter two being considered as serious candidates for signing the player. Etienne
Capoue was recently called up to represent the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899 national side, which earned his first international cap.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (AS Saint-Etienne)
The 23-year-old has established a reputation of being a proven striker this season, with the forward being the club’s leading goal scorer. The young player has helped Les Verts develop them as serious contenders for the Championnat.
Aubameyang is one of the most prolific strikers in Ligue 1, and it would not appear to be surprising at all if the former AC Milan player moves to another club. With Premier League being his preferred option, the striker is shortlisted by http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809, Aston
Villa and Newcastle United as their January transfer window target.
