Continued from part 6…
Steven Pienaar
Steven Pienaar is the 28-year-old South African who plays for Everton. He started with Ajax Cape Town’s youth academy and made his way through two other youth academies before making it into Ajax Cape town’s first team in 1999.
Then he made a move to Ajax in 2001 and made 24 appearances and scored six goals as a winger and an attacking midfielder.
He then spent five years with Ajax and gave in 94 appearances with them and netted 15 goals. Then in 2006 he got himself transferred to Borussia Dortmund and in his two years there he gave in 20 appearances without even a single goal scored.
In 2007-08, he made a move to Everton for a loan and made 28 appearances with two goals before joining them officially in 2008.
Since then he has made 69 appearances for Everton and scored seven goals. He has also been a part of the South African national team since 2002 and since then has appeared for the national team 55 times, making numerous crucial assists and scoring two goals.
He is another player that was rumoured to make a move in the summer and when this did not happen, it is now widely believed that he will move in January.
The Toffees have been struggling in the English Premier League this season and have only managed to make it mid-table. Pienaar has been a consistent player with Everton but his initial start was very poor and most football pundits are just arguing over that matter that if this is really enough to make him move out of the club.
Still the South African has been a key player in the Toffees’ squad and has been playing very well in the midfield but now only time will tell where this player’s next destination would be.
Adam Johnson
Adam Johnson is the 23-year-old Englishman who currently plays for Manchester City. He started his youth academy in Middlesbrough in 1999 and after five years, made it to their first team.
The player stayed with the club for the next six years during which he made two loan spells. He made 94 appearances with 13 goals scored playing as a left winger for the club.
His loan spells included time in Leeds United and Watford from 2006-07.
Johnson’s name been floating about when it comes to the January transfers but what most people don’t undertake is that will Roberto Mancini let go of this talented winger or not.
But with the arrival of many big names to the Citizens squad, Johnson has been sidelined and mostly comes in as a substitute.
Johnson is a player that reads the game well and just knows what to do at the most crucial time of the game. He is a key goal scorer and a team man, and has become a target for numerous major clubs in Europe
The player did come out and speak in a press conference that he wants to stay with Manchester City but the scarce on field time that he is seeing is making him reconsider his decision, as he wants to be in a club that gives him more first team time.
