The pool play matches of the tournament are being staged in Busan, Korea. The two Asian teams fought an exciting battle which ended in a win for Japan. Unfortunately for the home team, the Koreans lost a third match in the tournament in front of the home
crowd.
The opening frame saw the guests perform well that caused them to get hold of the set comfortably but the Koreans made the match even by securing the second frame. However, the Japanese were able to assert themselves in the next two sets and get hold of
the match at the following final set scores: 25-19, 23-25, 25-19 and 25-22.
The Japanese coach Masayoshi Manabe, shared his joy at the win by making the following comments, “It has been only a few weeks since the Olympic qualification matches ended, and despite the fact that we could not play our best players today, I am glad that
we won the match 3-1.”
On the other hand, the home team coach Hyung-sil Kim, expressed his views on the outcome of the game by making the following statements, “There is always tension and rivalry when we have a match with Japan. It is hard to talk about today’s game because many

The player who was able to earn the honour of being the highest scorer of the match was Maiko Kano from Japan as she registered 20 points in all. On the other hand, Hee-Jin Kim led the home team by scoring 18 points in the match.
Both the teams started off at level ground in the opening frame but the Japanese eventually got ahead and were able to leave the home team trailing behind as they made their way to a first set win at 25-19. The home team responded by giving the guests a
tough challenge in the second set and making the match reach a tie.
However, Japan was able to overpower its opponent in the third and the fourth frames by securing them at 25-19 and 25-22 respectively.
