Japan given green signal to host FIFA Club World Cup amidst crisis situation
FIFA President, Sepp Blatter, has confirmed that FIFA Club World Cup would take place as per schedule. There were concerns raised over the tournament’s future keeping in mind the current crisis in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Japan-c2928.  The country is going through a nuclear power plant
crisis and it was looking difficult for the tournament to proceed. But the President has given the green light to the country, claiming that it would bring stability to the country’s current crisis situation.
FIFA Club World Cup is due to be held in Japan from December 8 to 18. Six champion clubs from FIFA’s six federations would take part in the competition along with Japan’s J-League winner.
Blatter was hopeful that Japanese Football Association would make their best efforts in enabling the tournament to be a big success. Blatter further expressed that the country is facing a big challenge these days and the people certainly need some good news.
The 75-year-old held talks with the Japanese Prime Minister, Naoto Kan, and told him that the tournament would proceed irrespective of the fears surrounding the country at the moment.
The President also announced that FIFA would take every step possible to revive football in Japan and were considering another emergency aid for their Football Association. FIFA had donated 1.5 million Dollars earlier for the rebuilding work in Fukushima
Prefecture.
This news was welcomed by the JFA President, Junji Ogura, who hoped that FIFA would continue the revival efforts in the country. Ogura thanked Blatter for his encouraging comments and believed that Japan could prove to be the best hosts in December.
Ogura added, “We’re very happy president Blatter took the time to come out all the way out here even with the Fifa Congress coming up. It was our wish for key government officials to explain to Mr Blatter in person the situation of our country, so that he
could decide on the organization of the Club World Cup.”
FIFA President reckoned that everything is ready for the event to take place and repeatedly insisted that there would be no changes made to the venue.
The President concluded by saying, ‘‘everything is ready to organize Fifa’s Club World Cup. We will do it, and we will do it in December as scheduled. I was very happy to meet with the officials of football but also the officials and leadership in politics
to express the support of the whole family in such a difficult situation.”
Both the President and Prime Minister hoped for the matters to be resolved at the earliest, which could revive different sports in the country.
