game systems have heavily influenced the US such as playstation and nintendo

yes of course, japan is really in love with western culture and have adopted a lot of it into their own.

Some, but not too much.  Hollywood movies?  Maybe.  Rock band?  Hmm...maybe.  Actually, Japan was influenced by European culture far before Americans came.  So, I would say that Japanese 'western' culture came from the counties like Spain and Portugal.  After the WWII, a lot of American culture came into Japan, but Japan didn't absorb as whole.  A lot of younger people like things like blue jeans, coca cola, McDs, big American cars, etc., but mainly European style culture from France and England are more popular than ever.

They are much influenced by American culture, however, still Japan is Japan and not a state of United States of America.

It is kinda of both sided here, Japan has giving us so much and America returns the favor.

I agree. I was in japan a couple of years ago and found it very interesting how the manicans in stores weren't of asians but usually white, blonde haired. Also if you are american they will ask if they can take a picture of you of take a picture with you. As far as I know they do idolize american culture.

I agree that Japanese culture was partially influenced by American.  I suppose you know Japan is the nation of 3000 years, no like the USA with 300 years

Modern Japanese culture is influenced by AMerican culture, like pop music, baseball, etc

But this is happening in every countries, American culture is not really American since Americans themselves are not really Americans, and they are immigrant.

Asians, Europeans and Africans.

I hope you know that America did not exist 2500 years ago

Almost all of modern Japanese culture is anime or anime based. Anime came from American cartoons after WW2, they just developed their own style and proceeded to base their entire culture around it.

Historically of course things were different. They stole from the Chinese not the west.

Yes, I agree.

It began since 1945.

As you know, Japan was terribly poor.

All they can to do is to imitate USA.

They had no cars, bread, sand witches, even coffee.

Now, We can see Burger king, Starbucks, McDonald, 7-11,Kentucky, all over Japan.

Even Yahoo Answers Japan also.

They hate poor life and try to catch up with the average life of people living in USA.

This attitudes will continue forever.

They have no natural resources such as gold, platinum,crude oils. Nothing.

IT company's are also break down everyday.

They are living on invest to other countries  properties, only.

d**n politician think their own properties only.

I hope, Japan will be get back in powerful again.
