I have an opportunity to study abroad in both countries. If you were presented with this opportunity, which country would you choose and why?

  1. It depends on what you want to do.  In China, you will be able to experience a society that is in a period of great change.  It has changing economy, a huge rural urban divide, and, yes, obviously problems with governance and democracy.  In Japan, you will be in the most modern and technologically advanced country in the world. It is also in a state of change, however, with a changing labor market and a declining birth rate.

If you have an affinity for one culture over the other, that is what you should choose.  If not, you should think about which kind of society do you want to live in for your time abroad.  Either way, you would have a great experience

  2. Japan- because China doesn't protect people's human rights

  3. Japan-bc its has way more things to do and the ppl seem nicer

  4. Ok both Japan and China are very good countries to vist for studying abroad....but in this case I would defnately choose Japan. China is still a communist country and have very strict rules on peoples rights. Japan , while having a strict social system, still lets the people do basically what ever they want. It depends on what you want as a person do you want more freedom or is it going to be all work and no play? in my opinion for a better experience go to Japan.

  5. I say China if it's Hong Kong. It's a pretty liberal city if compared to other cities in Asia. I think it's because of the British influence.

  7. Even though Japan is my favorite place on Earth, I would choose China. Economically it's rising very quickly and will be a superpower. It's still a very closed country that hides lots of mysteries

  8. china is much easier
